Major League Baseball’s All-Star events are over and the second half of the season is about to begin. Did the new timed format add to the entertainment value of the Home Run Derby? Would a legends vs young stars derby be possible? Mike rants on how asinine it is an All-Star game still decides home field advantage in the World Series. Mike Trout keeps solidifying himself as baseball’s best.
How does the landscape look heading into the MLB trade deadline and post season push? Which teams have over-achieved and under-achieved so far? Can any teams go from worst to first? Will the logjam of “average” teams being close to a playoff spot make trading difficult?
While there are fewer active sports, the leading network held an annual award show to celebrate the year in sports. ESPN’s 2015 ESPY Awards sparked some controversy with some award winners. No award was more controversial than the distinguished Arthur Ash Award. Caitlyn Jenner won the honor. Should she have been chosen? Was her award done simply for ratings?
Dez Bryant was finally given a contract extension. Does this speak to the NFL’s belief in collusion?
